Blackberry Onyx

Blackberry Onyx - SINCE last week I receive many messages via SMS, e-mail, or fuel that fear will miss the series of articles with Character Grow up in writing after the hundredth. Some people also ask if there will be a book containing a collection of those writings.

My friend, Mas Hariono, for example, every morning fight with his wife because they have to secure the clipping of this series. Prof. Imam Robandi, boss Dikdasmen Muhamadiyah in East Java, often giving encouragement to me via SMS. While Lesly Shila Ussily, private secretary to the Japanese consul general in Surabaya, states are often deeply moved when I happened to be writing about my deceased parents.

In Ubud, Bali, I was even surprised by a guard parking Bengil Duck. When I want to go into the family's famous restaurant, suddenly he nyeletuk, "Grow with character!" Automatically, I turned around and he asked me berfoto. Crazy, right? That handyman parking intellect from Bali. So, do not be surprised if Bali had the highest ratio of graduates over Indonesia for the national exam!

Still in Bali, who is also head of Heru Legowo Ngurah Rai International Airport on Science Three liked what I wrote. She said the writings would like this series because it can be used for discussion with staff.

In Jakarta, although often cut Indopos article when it was published, I met some people who like to ex Surabaya also with this serial. He said, I miss the language Suroboyoan here. In Bandung, where the series has not cited Radar Bandung, it turns out that writing is read by some people obsessively over the internet.

A few days ago, Governor of Gorontalo Ir Ismail MM Gusnar stopped and had dinner at the Office MarkPlus Inc Jakarta. He says, many are cutting staff this series because it was published Gorontalo Post. Even from overseas, I get many e-mails from the Indonesian people who diligently open Internet.

Having seen it all and it was happening because the serial numbers miscount 100 has not fallen on May 1, 2010, fitted MarkPlus Festival, I immediately send an SMS to the Chief Editor Mas Leak Kustiya Post and Radar Surabaya, Java.

"Can not added a couple of days?"

"Monggo tell extravaganza ...." That's the answer, use Javanese style Pos.

Therefore, I wrote an extra today and tomorrow, which really will be the last.

This is the first time I wrote in Java Pos, one hundred days nonstop (Sunday was hit), even two-plus extravaganza. Wrote them from anywhere via BlackBerry Onyx! When these things I tell the people the BlackBerry from Singapore office, he was shocked. I will meet with the bosses BlackBerry in Waterloo, one hour from Toronto, in the third week in June.

When I met Mas Leak to talk about this series, I say there are three things I want to accomplish.

First, in practical learning through the writing style of story telling about the development of marketing concept from time to time. Therefore, if you diligently follow this series, I always slip concepts that are easy. However, I protested a few people who feel too scientific. However, when alleviated, some people actually think this series is not qualified.

As such, I just play swing. Weight per day, the day light. A day to speak of personal experience, a day talking concepts that I had written. Importantly, there should be learning. At Harvard Business School, I diajarin to not teach, but to make others learn! Upshot? Simplifying the complex is more difficult thing than Complicating the simple thing!

Second, the series will force me to continue writing. My schedule is tight and I had to move cities every time. But, I want to publish a book just in HUT-20 MarkPlus Inc., May 1, 2010! Yes, the only way to have to force myself to like it.

All the writings are my own, without a ghost writer. Therefore, the language so yes. Bonek! Suroboyoan! Writing in a mass media such as Java Pos makes me indebted to my readers. They are my ultimate customers which must be known and recognized his anxiety and desire. Body can wear out, the mind can be too late, the schedule could be solid, but basic marketing people, always remember to customers!

Although written in a way to force myself, I already have a lattice of sequences of writing so that it can form a nice long story. If you look, the story I was sometimes going back and forth in time frame. No matter! Hollywood's also often used flashbacks to make a film more fun!

Third, yes frankly to warm MarkPlus Festival on May 1, 2010 at Shangri-La Surabaya. Because of that, and then calculated countdown to the next one hundred days, which eventually proved wrong count, two days too early.

Apparently, this series is powerful! When these participants reached MarkPlus Festival 2000 tickets, 1500 tickets out over the target. The committee had closed counters and busy with all kinds of preparations.

It's also proof that the Java Post is very powerful, especially in Surabaya, East Java and East Indonesia. You will meet with many participants from outside Java, especially in Eastern Indonesia, particularly its newspapers Radar includes the series.

Awesome!

MarkPlus Festival this time would be exciting. Education Minister Mohammad Nuh called me to tell you that he will inaugurate the opening of the event. Likewise Pakde Karwo, governor of East Java who told me definitely comes through SMS.

East Java Police ranks will also meramaikannya. Besides coming, Police Inspector General Drs Pratiknyo Pol will then inspect the counter for renewal of driver's license and vehicle registration. Therefore, do not forget to stop by if you want to do so while berseminar!

Sam Budigusdian Dirlantas Kombespol Java, East Java, and a former Dirlantas now Dirlantas Kombespol Condro Kirono Metro Jaya, also will attend!

If Ditlantas Jatim focus to youth and women, focusing on the Metro Jaya Ditlantas Netizen. They are really new wave marketers focus on youth, women and Netizen.

There are three people who will receive a Life Mentor Appreciation. For, they who inspired me to dare to open MarkPlus Professional Service in Surabaya on May 1, 1990. Putera Sampoerna, Ciputra, and Dahlan Iskan!

Special Pak Dahlan, there will be a historical event. What is it? There will be a delivery of books from the CEO Character Grow with Great Adiprasetyo Kompas Gramedia to Java as the publisher of Post as a newspaper article containing this series. I dare to confirm that it was new the first time.

That could happen because Helly Dwi Purnomo from Gramedia Pustaka Utama is now waiting for his mama in a hospital in Surabaya, every morning and read this series on Java Pos. He who has an idea for a unique collaboration.

I immediately contacted Mas Leak, who finally get the green light from the Mas Azrul Ananda, then there are two projects shared by the largest print media group in Indonesia.

So, on May 1, 2010 will be no book Grow with character, but of course it did not amount to 2,000 copies. To be sure, the first 500 copies will be my sign. Hopefully you who get it.

The book not only contains a series of my writings edited Bayu Asmara, but also includes the Grow model with an edited character Alex Mulya. They are both senior consultants MarkPlus Inc., which will also guide the parallel classes in the festival.

're Going to have three parallel classes with a variety of topics and speakers so you can choose, even moved from one class to another class. Even at lunch, there will be three parallel classes where you can choose to follow.

Anyway, FBIs new! Might you get new friends, new businesses and new ideas at our festival!

Rector Prof. ITS Priyo Suprobo also certainly present. Because, I will leave the University of Life Appreciation. Although it does not pass from the ITS, I could not possibly have a brain modeling so they can write marketing models that have never attending college there for five years.

ITS gives me the power of logic that is ultimately a vehicle for marketing differentiation in my world.

Prof Philip Kotler the marketing world mbahnya not cooperate with me to write five books over 12 years because of the uniqueness of my yes on that one. I can do simplifying the complexities by using the model.

Meanwhile, almost all marketing text books can only menjlentrehkan points without a clear model. If you already use a model, even confusing as it is a rigorous scientific model assumptions and can quickly become obsolete when the assumptions change! So, not at all useful for practitioners.

In the meantime, the models that I use is easily understood and flexible so it can follow changes in the landscape. In fact, I often say that a dropout could be 50 teachers ITS marketing world with just the logic of capital strength. Conversely, it is very difficult for a professor of marketing could be the world's 50 teachers in the field of engineering!

I am very grateful for the rector of ITS will be accompanied by some professors of my colleagues from the ITS.

Of course, I invited all my colleagues, consul generals and honorary consuls in Surabaya. Kan I also honorary consul of the Czech Republic in Surabaya. Consul General of the United Caryn R. McClelland and some other consuls have confirmed to attend.

In addition to the opening plenary that be fun, and followed by three parallel sessions, do not miss the top event on the final session, that is at 4 p.m. to 18:00 pm. For two full hours, I'll give Lecture of the Decade!

Here I'll explain the development of marketing concept from 1950 until 2020. You will see how the evolution of the concept of marketing in accordance with the macro situation!

Operette shape because I will be in the middle of 2000 participants and Jacky Waizly Mussry and Darwin on the stage. Jacky who used to champion a number one disc jockey and now a doctoral-Indonesia strategic management from the University of Indonesia will be singing with a keyboard solo. Waizly while coming home from MIT in Boston six months ago will play a variety of ads in different eras through his iPad!

The Vegetarian

Felton’s Sue Kuivanen has penned her first book, “Parent’s Diet Handbook,” an exploration of healthy eating for children with a backdrop of the San Lorenzo Valley. Kuivanen, a graduate school-level researcher and a former English teacher, wanted to write a book — and what better inspiration than her and her young daughter’s journey of learning to be healthy?

“It’s not another health or cookbook,” Kuivanen said. “It goes beyond diet paths and gives practical ideas for parents.

“Experts tell us, ‘Eat kale,’” she said. “I show how you can get your child to eat kale.”

Kuivanen’s book entwines the challenges of parenthood with strategies, stories and experiences that could help other parents make decisions about how to feed a child in today’s society.

“So far, the people who have read it have felt very inspired,” Kuivanen said.

The book has chapters on sugar consumption, teeth, and growing and gathering healthy foods. Each chapter is an easy-to-read resource for parents hoping to help girls and boys eat well.

Kuivenan’s 5-year-old daughter, Savannah, is growing up as a vegetarian, and her mother has formally observed her for three years. Based on her experience and research, Kuivenan’s book shares ideas about how to feed children in the Central Coast region using the abundance of fresh, natural food at local stores and farmers markets.

The book describes the struggle of a parent helping her child grow up healthy.

“(Savannah) is being raised as a vegetarian,” Kuivanen said. “But I don’t proclaim that it is going terrific. This book helps (parents) get crystal-clear on their positions.”

She shares her best ideas of how to get more natural and simple foods into a child’s diet and talks about her journey working with the San Lorenzo Valley School District to improve the quality of lunches at its elementary school by incorporating produce from local farmers.

“We vote with every purchase,” Kuivanen said. “That’s not my idea or a new idea. The book shows the complexity and importance of voting with your food choices.”

South Africa urges calm after Terre'blanche murder

South Africa (Reuters) - South African President Jacob Zuma called for calm on Sunday after the killing of white far-right leader Eugene Terre'blanche in a suspected pay dispute with black workers fanned fears of racial strains.

Police detained two farm workers and said they were investigating the quarrel they had with Terre'blanche, but his Afrikaner Resistance Movement (AWB) says he was battered and hacked to death in an attack with political overtones.

Zuma, who has made it a priority to court white Afrikaners, called it a "terrible deed" and urged South Africans "not to allow agent provocateurs to take advantage of this situation by inciting or fuelling racial hatred."

Terre'blanche, 69, was the voice of hardline opposition to the end of apartheid in the early 1990s although his party has played a marginal role since then and does not have a big following among the 10 percent of white South Africans.

The AWB urged restraint while the funeral is prepared and before the party decides next steps. In Ventersdorp, in rolling farmland over 100 km (60 miles) west of Johannesburg, party followers in paramilitary khaki laid flowers at the farm gate.

"We will decide upon the action we are going to take to avenge Mr Terre'blanche's death," said spokesman Andre Visagie.

Concerns over increasing racial polarization have been thrown into the open by a row over the singing of an apartheid-era song with the lyrics "Kill the Boer" by the youth leader of the ruling African National Congress.

The ANC has defended the song as no more than a way to remember a history of oppression, but it has worried minority groups and particularly white farmers, some 3,000 of whom have been killed since the end of apartheid.

STRAIN

"The killing of Terre'blanche will symbolically be seen as a strain of these relationships," said analyst Nic Borain of HBC Securities.

"But Terre'blanche is an old criminal and I don't think people would come to his defense or his killing somehow invigorate white people opposition to the new South Africa."

Terre'blanche's party did not hesitate to link the murder to the song. He had always described himself as a Boer.

"That's what this is all about," Visagie said.

Zuma's spokesman Vincent Magwenya said, however, there was no evidence at this stage linking the killing to the song sung by firebrand ANC youth wing leader Julius Malema.

Terre'blanche had lived in relative obscurity since his release from prison in 2004 after serving a sentence for beating a black man nearly to death.

The party -- whose flag resembles a Nazi swastika -- was revived two years ago and he had begun efforts to try to build a united front among white far-right parties to fight for a white homeland, but had gained little traction.

Terre'blanche was a powerful orator in his Afrikaans language and was a distinctive figure, heavily built, with a thick grey beard and dressed in khaki. He often attended rallies on horseback during his fight to stop majority rule.

Police said the suspected killers were aged 16 and 21. Both had worked for Terre'blanche.

"It seems there was a dispute between and these guys were arrested ... The police are investigating and the public will be kept abreast," Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa told a news conference. "Somebody is dead, can we keep it at that."
